Holy Helper
A pixel-art mobile game for the 2025 Jubilee: a monk guides pilgrims to the seven churches, past the temptations of the seven deadly sins.

The brief
Holy Helper was born inside 4MAPP's format for the 2025 Jubilee, alongside the map and the app for the seven-church route. The aim was to bring younger visitors along too: a smartphone game, easy to pick up, that tells the pilgrims' journey through play.
What we did
We produced the game through SUD01, our gaming arm, and brought in partners for development, level design and characters. In the story Matha, the monk known as the "Holy Helper", shields pilgrims on their way to the seven Jubilee churches from the snares of the seven deadly sins, each played by a city character: Sloth is a distracted e-scooter rider, Greed a pickpocket, Pride a paparazzo, Gluttony a sweet shop, Lust a nightclub. Players wield sacred powers, collect the letters of the Sator Square and lead the pilgrims to their goal. We handled the concept, story, logo, key art, intro screens and the illustrations of the churches; the game itself is pixel art, for Android and iOS.
The outcome
A playable Android demo, linked to the map and app of the 4MAPP format, that puts the Jubilee route on younger visitors' phones.
