The brief

Academic gowns are built on solemnity and forms that never change. The Accademia di Belle Arti di Catanzaro trains the people who create, and it wanted ceremonial dress that looked like it: gowns for the director and the students, drawn from its own visual identity, the ABACZ symbol, that break with the stiffness of the classic gown and speak for a creative place.

What we did

We turned the ABACZ symbol into a pattern and carried it onto the gowns of the director and the students: a stole in the pattern, with the symbol embroidered in gold. Pattern, prototype, tailoring and embroidery were all done in our workshop.

The outcome

The gowns were delivered to the Academy and are now worn at its official ceremonies.
